A Visit to a Hidden Gem
Some of our members had a lovely afternoon visiting a hidden gem just outside of Ripon. Markenfield Hall was truly stunning. We left the main road to Ripon to go up a farm track. We wondered where we were going to end up then we turned the corner to see a beautiful medieval house surrounded by a moat.
Who knew it was there, we certainly didn’t. We were made very welcome by our very knowledgeable guide and spent the next couple of hours hearing the history of this lovely house, which is still a family home. Our visit was topped off by tea and the most exquisite cake.
